May 16, 2026 · Lead. Led odds. What is there to say? The main descent is a snow field but a 70m from the slung boulder by the trees gets you to a short 3rd class traverse to the trail. I took the direct line (the slab to step-across) to the summit because the 6 soloists partying up there filled me with confidence.

May 2, 2026 · Lead / Redpoint. By headlamp. It would be fun to get into sport climbing shape. Probably won’t for a while. More easy trad on the horizon in tuolumne. But this was a fun day out tick farming.

Apr 19, 2026 · Lead / Fell/Hung. Led 1&2. Ben got 3 as thanks for royal arches. Hung on the first piece I literally placed from the ground and then freed the rest. Without the tree I think that part is the crux of the whole route.

Apr 17, 2026 · 15 pitches. Follow. I led one pitch but if I had led many more we would have been back even later than 10pm. Thank you Ben for getting us up and down as efficiently as possible. Linked many pitches, simuled a bit. Shenanigans were had but we hit a stride after the pendulum. Anyways, now I can say I’ve rappelled royal arches in the dark!

Feb 28, 2026 · Lead. Led evens. First 6 pitches are the longest jug haul I’ve ever been on. Those pitches would be cool enough to recommend the route if not for the next 3. P8 was all horrible slabby rock with no good pro for most of a full rope length. I learned that being genuinely scared is not why I climb. It was too much. And I could barely move because in desperately searching for gear all over the face I created the worst rope drag I hope I’ll ever experience. I did not find the .75 horizontal so I had nothing but junk all the way to the anchor. Anyways, the exit off the top was cool, you feel a bit heroic traversing and then jumping to the ledge all the way up there.

Feb 15, 2026 · Lead / Flash. The crack climb I was looking for and didn’t find at dq wall. Harder and better than double cross. Little cruxy at the start but a fist solves it. Getting into the pod, take the thin crack in the right facing dihedral to maximize time spent jamming instead of scrambling.
