Description Suggest change

After taking your lumps on The Caning, soothe yourself with this sweet finish by continuing up through bulging rimrock via opposing sidepulls and a toe hook or two (or just slappy goodness) to an anchor on a big ledge. This is an extension that augments The Caning's unfortunate conclusion (which involves clipping the anchor from a strenuous position on smeary feet) with an exciting, overhanging finale on great stone. Super fun and satisfying!

Location Suggest change

The Caning shares a start with Cornercopia, but keeps away from that route's stem box by moving left through the low roof and onto the face of the column. Candy Cane continues straight up from the first anchor.

Protection Suggest change

Draws for The Caning (many suggest a runner for the fifth bolt), plus an additional runner for the anchor, and two more draws to protect the finish. Anchor has fixed lower-offs. With a 70 I had plenty of rope to spare; I think a 60 might work but watch your ends just in case.
