Another variation that starts up Body Karate, but this time, from the no hands rest, head right onto the hanging column. Get a good stance on the column, and then launch into the crux - slappy compression climbing with terrible, smeary feet! After the crux, easy climbing takes you to the Body Karate anchor.

All bolts!

Even though I didn't finish this one while I was there, I liked the crux because the column gets wider than almost any other compression in the gorge, and there it encourages use of a unique double arete on the right side. Even though this one seemed like a fun outing from the start of body karate, I also always envisioned it as a reasonable finish to bold line, which would make it likely the easiest link thru on this part of the wall, with crux still being the higher part of the route.

Nice work Jess and Peter on quickly sending/repeating all the lines in this area. It's cool to see all of that stuff get done, especially since it was always there and we all walked right under it for so long. Feb 18, 2017
