Lord Caffeine
Jun 21, 2026 · Lead / Fell/Hung. Climbs like an off width. When the butterfly jams gave way to finger crack, it’s still heel toeing. Struggle grabbing gear on my right side, didn’t think I’d be climbing that side in with so few options. Didn’t think it would climb like that from the ground otherwise I might have slung my cam’s across my chest for more freedom. Gear placements generally challenging. Reminds me of learning to wingfoil with the leashes tangling everywhere except here it’s the rope getting caught between my feet, across my cams. Speaks to inexperience in general with this sort of climbing. I can’t imagine my lead in 2019 going much worse. Engineering project as I gave up on technique and finesse.

Serrated Edge
Jun 20, 2026 · Lead / Onsight. Lead 1, 3, 5. First 3 pitches are fantastic. Fourth has a lot of options that all seem to go but the options make it wandery and route-findy. Climbs like a lot of dihedrals of this nature - find stems or smears for feet and don’t obligate-crack-climb the corner cracks or you’d find yourself overhanging. The roofs were all really fun, four big ones. The crux roof on p2 was a powerful stem to gain the lip crack. Happy to have followed even with our day pack dangling between my legs. This one _was_ burly, I thought the others were thought provoking and technical as well but presented much better stances to plan a sequence.

Jun 20, 2026 · Lead / Onsight. Used to approach Serrated Edge. 10c move was mellow. Saw someone below seemingly start to TRS a fixed line that started at p2, but also lugging a pink a rope around like they were going to lead solo. I couldn’t for the life of me figure out what they were doing. Maybe practicing something - seemed like an odd spot (for practice) and uninspiring climb (for the experience). Was worried when they started cutting steps in the widest part of the frozen solid snowfield we had chosen to skirt near the base - that would have been a really bad unintentional glissade.
