South Face
Aug 1, 2026 · 10 pitches. Lead / Flash. Almost a decade since I last climbed it. Lead every pitch with Alyssa. 6:58 AM at the base, 2:30 PM on top. Amazing climbing the whole way. The runout face pitch would have been a spicey lead a decade ago, nice work Beau. Did the first 4 pitches in 3, just ran until the 70m was close. There are lots of belays outside of the topos. Linked the slot and the traverse dike pitch as well. Route absolutely eats nuts. Mix of offsets and walnuts big and small saw action the whole climb. Makes a single rack of cams cozy though double 0.4, 0.5, 0.75 was nice. Four would be pointless. None of the topos show the bushes in the second half of the furrows. It’s on route and there is great climbing that avoids the rope running through bushes. The descent: tree raps are avoidable but tricky. There is one sappy pine tree next to a rather smushed / flattened pine tree that you can reach traversing the ridge. From that pair of trees there’s a mellow-ish traverse around a few blocks below the ridge that will get you to a dusty path 30 feet below, went securely without exposure.
