Description
A variation finish to either the start of Resurrection or Aquarius Rising, which can confuse the lines even further in this zone, but offers an excellent alternative ending to mix and match. The start of Resurrection is more consistent and creates a much straighter rope-line.
Follow either route until through the shared middle section of thin crack and corner-layback and stay left as for Aquarius Rising to the high alcove where you would continue left for the splitter finish of AR. Instead, charge straight up the steep, clean corner above with great fingers and fortuitous face features on the right wall. Pull into hands-pods through the rollover as the angle changes and the crack pinches down. Navigate some great face climbing and stemming to the ledge, and finish up hero handcrack with jugs to a higher ledge and anchors pretty much on the prow of where the Right Wall merges into the Double Clutching Wall, a sweet perch indeed!
This is a very worthy alternative that shares the same excellent rock as its neighbors; in my opinion this prow area has the most consistent great rock quality throughout the route lengths of anywhere on the crag. The pro is also great.
Bloom toproped this a few years ago and encouraged me to finish it up. It is named after my sense of irrational pride at finally getting to contribute some new terrain to the Waterfall, even if it's only a variation. The grade given is for the new terrain, as starting either Resurrection or Aquarius can have different grades for the lower section, with the Res start probably earning the .12-.
