Casual Route
Nov 27, 2025 · Follow. W/ Eric and Andrew. Approach and descent gave me the heebie jeebies as the rock was incredibly sandy and crumbly. Shall never do again please. Rope and gear were very necessary for the route as that was the steepest sandiest part. Followed a nice gpx track for the route and it was pretty straightforward. Ended before sunset. Good but heady day.

Nov 24, 2025 · Solo. W/ Eric and Vitaly. Such a blaaaaaast. Approach was only two hours and pretty obvious. Missed the entrance to the ridge and got a bit chossaineered up this 5.7ish chute. Scrambled everything except the 5.7 pitch. Ticked the peak next to it as well which was easy peasy. Pretty mild descent with only a teeny weeny bit of third class. Used a single rack but didn’t bring a three which is all the 5.7 would have taken.

Apr 19, 2025 · Follow. W/JT went pretty quick. Start felt better than last time. Crux for me was the second pitch four baggy fists section. Had to rest a bit before the slab traverse. Don’t do the rap. Rope got mega stuck from friction and we almost got stranded. Also was almost spicy with a short 70m.

Apr 19, 2025 · 1 pitch. Lead. W/ JT after Open Book. Calves got a bit smoked bc I’m still getting back into it. Had to rest on a black totem bout halfway up pitch one. Did the 5.8 variation up the thin fingers. Oh well. Still a grand time. Rapped from the tree under El Camino, tat looked sturdy and new. Rope did get stuck on the pull in a tiny construction but was easy enough to free.

Anchors would be bomber with bigger gear and a huuuuuge cord to extend, but had to wiggle some tiny pieces super close to the edge and was scurred. Still needed to extend and the rope still got stuck. Eric had to free with bravery. Bouldery heel hook start. Great movement.

First pitch wonderful, engaging climbing, belayed at mossy tree. Second pitch belayed below roof at hanging belay also a slam dunk. Third pitch start at roofy thing, fourth wandery alpine, same with five tad runout over a sandy slab. Shoots you out at the gully descent. Got on this route after being beat to El Whampo. Doubles to three, one four.

Defs out of shape, roofs felt hard. lead pitch two and five. lovely jam crack on pitch two. Gear to double three, brought on four and used it, but not necessary. Janet lost an approach shoe through the trees on the traverse, oh boy.

Buffon's Needle Problem
Feb 26, 2022 · Follow. W/ Janet. Gear to 4. Easy hike in from Pine Creek. On trail by 7:30AM back at car by 4PM. Got snowed off upper linkup to Armatron. First pitch should start at right of face, not around the back, made for some pure soloing shenanigans. Easy climbing, but absolutely no gear. Roof cruxes all really protectable and interesting. Would repeat. Four pitch beautiful exposure on steep hands. Stay in the right steep hands system before threading the needle. Top three pitches are all easy slab choose your own adventure. Walkies were priceless. Did Shoyu Ramen in town afterwards bc was verrrry chilly in the shade. That's the beta for sure!
