Description Suggest change

Frostbite climbs the slightly overhanging, left-facing corner on the right side of the upper shelf. A boulder move off the ledge leads to fun stemming, and a strenuous crux. This is proper CT 5.9+, established by the legendary Henry Barber in 1973.

Location Suggest change

Location: this climb begins on the North End shelf system, about half way up the cliff. The shelf is located to climber’s right of Owl Perch and Climbers left of aid crack and can be accessed by a 4th class scramble (roping up recommended), by climbing an adjacent route at the bottom of the cliff, or by rappelling in. Frostbite itself climbs the prominent corner, approximately 14 feet to climber’s right of obsession. Jam Corner and Sweat Slot are also located on this same shelf.

Protection Suggest change

A variety of trees at the top of the cliff can easily be accessed with a modest length of static line to set up a top rope. Prospective leaders should consider carrying a good selection of micro gear on up to #2 Camelot and a #5 if you wish to utilize the obvious wide, flaring slot nearby the crux.
