The BLM Taos Field Office implemented a Climbing Fixed Hardware Authorization Process for routes within its management area. The Diablo walls included in this plan are The Shack, Winter Wall, Sun Devil Wall, Solar Cave, Lake Street and Styx. The final document can be found online: shorturl.at/FYn4f
Description
Start on a ramp with a strenuous pull over a small roof. At the midpoint of the climb work to left and over the obvious large roof. From here the route climbs an amazing headwall to a two bolt anchor.
The upper headwall sits directly over the start to the 5.7 Original Face Route. Be sure to caution any climbers at the base of the 5.7 about potential rock fall hazards.
