Description Suggest change

This is the X-M chimney variation. This pitch is probably the less popular start although the climbing is great. A few left knee locks will get you through the crux. Belay at a two bolt anchor on top of the pillar.  The Levin guidebook rates this 9+, but it's definitely harder than the shallow, left-facing dihedral start to the left rated 10b.

Location Suggest change

It ascends the obvious, wide crack that starts to the left of the cave at the northwest corner of The Bastille.

Protection Suggest change

A standard rack + a #5 Camalot. A #6 would make it a toprope.
