Description
The key insight that lead to this route is that you can easily scramble from the rappel tree at the top of Dinkus Dog and Fat Dog over to the top of pitch 4 of Southender / pitch 3 of Enigma. With that in mind, the route consists of climbing either Fat Dog (classic 5.7) or Dinkus Dog (classic 5.10-) to the tree island ~350ft up. From there scramble around the climber's right side of the island then across the back side of the island (see the map for more detail). From here finish up Southender/Enigma (5.7). At the top, you can bush wack about 100 feet to the looking glass hiking trail and hike off to add to the adventure. Alternatively you can rap back to the ground which ever way you want (options include rapping straight down Southender/Enigma, rapping back down the way you came up, or hiking to The Nose summit and rapping off The Nose).
This is more of a concept for a fun way to link some routes together than it is a route in and of it self, but I had a great time climbing Dinkus Dog, following Southender/Enigma to the top, then talking a long hike back to the southside parking lot and wanted to post this in case somone else found this idea interesting.
