This route climbs the slab and steep upper wall to the right of Winter Warm-up. It's most notable feature (last time I did it, anyway) was a spooky hollow block that constitutes the mental crux. FA party worked for hours to remove this block and finally decided that it wasn't going anywhere - but caution (and a helmet!) are always a good idea. Named for it's sunny disposition in the winter, when most of the grotto routes are frozen solid.

Start just right of the "Winter Warmup" crack on a smooth slab.

6 bolts to a 2 bolt anchor. No traditional gear needed.

This route leaves a good taste in your mouth when you're done. The loose blocks are low on the route and the climbing gets better the higher you get, to a final sweet sequence swinging out onto an arete and over a roof on jugs. Don't miss the bird bones. Nov 9, 2008
I *hate* that freakin' block. Rick and I took turns jiggling, wiggling, pounding, and cursing. To no avail. I'm guessing it'll be there (scaring us all) until the end of time.
