Grand Giraffe
Mar 1, 2026 · 2 pitches. Lead. Climbed with Laurelyn and Jonathan. I got to lead the first pitch, and I had a blast going fairly straight up from the first crack, and using the lower diagonal with one piton, rather than going right and starting on the second diagonal crack with the two pitons. Then I used both left and right cracks to make my way toward the top, using whichever one had the best feet :) We didn't bring a #6, so after giving the wide pitch a couple of goes, we decided it was safer to finish on another pitch, which turned out to be the pitch called "Disclosure". Super fun!

Disclosure (new name)
Mar 1, 2026 · Lead / Fell/Hung. Climbed this with Laurelyn and Jonathan as a variation to the third pitch of Grand Giraffe, because we only brought one #5 and no #6, haha! This seemed easier to me than pulling the (admittedly bomber) roof on Art's Spar. I quite enjoyed it! It was several pieces of very small gear on challenging moves before I got something worthwhile in. And thank goodness for the jug at the roof!

Feb 22, 2026 · 3 pitches. Lead. Climbed with Laurelyn. We rappelled in from the top of Cop Out, since the Boulder Falls trail was closed. We started at the big tree at the base of Cop Out and traversed in. The longer I climbed, the more highly I thought of the route :) It didn't help that I pulled my hammie on the opening moves of the route, hah!

Feb 8, 2026 · Lead / Fell/Hung. Climbed with John Cartwright. Had to hang several times to figure out how to get my foot up the huecos on the face!

Feb 1, 2026 · Lead / Fell/Hung. Climbed with Noah! Fun route, but both cruxes are my weakness on gear protected routes; roofs! Hung once on pitch one (got the feet mixed up), and hung several times on the second pitch (too scared to just commit to crappy feet). Can't wait to go back and get both pitches clean!
