West Crack
Jul 23, 2026 · Lead / Fell/Hung. Epic day out on amazing rock in an incredible place. It's as good as they say. Wish I hadn't punted at the roof, but oh well. Leading P2 was challenging for me, but a great learning experience for sure.

Jul 22, 2026 · Lead / Fell/Hung. Totally classic. Tried to lead P2, but it was totally my anti-style on micro gear. Bryce got it done. Was proud of my lead on P4. The traverse from the belay was memorable. It was the same "lean backwards layback stuff" (on small gear) from P2, but a grade easier. Then there was an awesome hands traverse on smears.

Jul 22, 2026 · 2 pitches. Lead / Fell/Hung. Wrong day on a classic. First two pitches were soaking wet and just not very fun. Went down to climb in the sun at Tenaya Lake. Learned things just need more time to dry out here than we are used to in AZ. Slipped out of wet crack at P1 crux, and pulled on gear to avoid wet jams at P2 crux.

Flower of High Rank
Jul 21, 2026 · 2 pitches. Lead / Redpoint. Came back with Bryce (on the way to Tuolomne) and got it done. I realized I had had tunnel vision (on the crack) last time here, and that it's totally doable with some stemming. Was stoked to get the P1 follow clean! (great onsight from Bryce!). It was spooky leaving the tree on P2---not a gimme from the get-go by any means. I went high left, then placed pro in the right crack and eventually committed to stepping over there. I didn't do the heel hook shenanigans, but crack climbed it. Nearly fell faffing with gear right at the roof, but held it together. Pure joy when I pulled the roof (easy) and knew I would send. Placed a #4 in the far left crack immediately after roof to make sure the rope wasn't on the sharp roof edge. There was still some tricky climbing up high. Built the anchor on a tree. Psyched to flash the second pitch! Compared to Pinnacle Peak, P1 is .9 and P2 would probably be 5.7+

Crack of Doom
Jul 11, 2026 · TR. This route is pretty classic...way better than it looks from the ground. There is a glory jug to get you off the face, then it goes hands, hand stacks, hand/fist, to chicken wings.

Jul 11, 2026 · 2 pitches. Lead / Redpoint. Got it! The plan worked like a charm. Watching Alexis' onsight attempt really helped me with the gear. Gear, in order -> Layback: 3, 3, .5, 5, Traverse: .75, 4, 2, Final ramp: .5 offset, Bump a 5, 4. Followed and cleaned for Bryce's redpoint after.
