Description

This is a new route that climbs easy ledges (it's like stairs!) to a high first bolt. From there, it's a little bit more face climbing to the overhanging fist crack above. The route has been cleaned well, but we still found some loose rock on it. It even has its own placard, with the name of the route, grade, and "3/08" written on the piece of rock in true desert style.

Location

This lies between Gabby and the start of Muscle Beach.

Protection

8 shiny new bolts plus two for the anchors.

Steep with a lot of serious crack climbing. I thought this was a great line! Really fun. Nov 12, 2011

Gotta agree with Bill on this one -- my wife and I both thought this was really a fun line, with a nice crux to jam a couple bolts from the anchors. Nov 12, 2012

Fun. Only a couple crack moves. More 5.9 IMO. Good warmup route. May 7, 2013

The person I was belaying on this route on 01/29/2017 ripped off a briefcase-sized flake on the right side of the starting moves (~20 feet off the ground). It only took a few pounds of force for the whole thing to break off. There is still another loose-looking flake right above the new rock scar, and it would be good to be careful and watch for loose stuff. Wear a helmet. Feb 2, 2017

It's an easy detour left with the flake missing. I was wondering why that pocket was chalked up and sitting out there by itself with no visible reason to use it unless you came up underneath it. Aug 22, 2017

There is a very loose flake in the crack around the 5th bolt, right before the crux. It is heavily chalked, clearly often used, and a bit awkward to avoid. Heads up. Dec 23, 2018
