Lead / Fell/Hung. woke up in a trailer in trinidad this morning not mine definitely not mine some kind of vinyl floor humming under me like a bad electrical problem head full of static and that faint chemical aftertaste you only get when the night before went completely off the rails couldnt piece together how i got there just fragments headlights desert road someone laughing too loud then nothing and somehow by noon im in eldo tying in like this is a normal progression of events like theres any continuity between those two places had longmont potion castle playing in one ear through a busted headphone the kind where you only get half the signal so its just disembodied voices and warped prank calls bleeding into the canyon echoing off the walls like theyre part of the rock itself couldnt tell what was real audio and what was just the place talking back to me belayer is some guy from the gym i met about ten minutes earlier says yeah yeah i got you bro but hes holding a grigri like its a puzzle piece from a different set eventually just gives up and clips an atc instead standing out in the dirt on his climbing shoes like hes waiting for a bus forty feet back from the wall loops of slack piling up at his feet like a nest of snakes i remember looking down once and seeing so much rope between us it felt conceptual not physical like we werent even attached started up and immediately knew the burrito was a mistake whole foods breakfast burrito probably from yesterday maybe older hard to say it was sitting in there like a brick wrapped in foil every move just kind of compressing it into something more aggressive kept thinking i could taste it again like it was recycling itself mid pitch longmont potion castle voices in my head telling me to press one for customer service press two if youd like to scream into the void rock felt alive not in a poetic way in a literal way like it was shifting micro movements under my hands like it was breathing or maybe i was i couldnt separate it at that point
