Southwest Rib
May 9, 2026 · 3 pitches. Solo. Lots of snow. Skinned up stashed board at base. This route works really well as a soloist with an 80m. p1: use higher smaller tree, link P1 to wavy crack. Solo the mellow 40’ 5.5 handcrack. P2: Build anchor as high on Rward traverse as possible. Nervous nelly pitch was by far the crux for me it was hard to commit to the R foot. Just 1 move of insecurity. Link thru bear hug pitch and go all the way to big ledge at base of arete. P3: arete all the way to bunny ears. 1 short rap. Solo’d the final bit too. Descent: skip first chains with only quicklinks. Use the ones in mtn proj photo. Rap all gvthe way to ends in chimney. Downscramble 20’ to next set. Rap to ground…. Snowboard corn home.

Dec 22, 2024 · Lead. With Caymen. Long queue behind us, made for some discomfort while struggling thru P1. Started frenching early and snowballed from there. The name is fitting, impeccable and clean.

Dec 22, 2024 · Solo. Whipped coming out from under roof on traverse pitch. Red tricam and red ballnut nice there. Green totems money throughout. Too sketched for 5.4 after first solo whip, clipped chains of trav pitch with trekking pole. Sea of holes pitch has been bolted, no longer cruxy at all. Cool summit.

Oct 9, 2024 · Solo. LRS. Fix to top of p4 with 2x70m. Ballnuts and messed up totems at crux. Bring 2 hooks for last pitch. A med pecker was useful. Raps took 3.5 hours. Got benighted on summit i couldnt find rap line. Walk uphill to the slung tree and and do extra rap instead of traversing steep slab.

May 15, 2023 · Lead. With Alex and Ryan. Fixed to sickle. ECT, C5, summit. One i’d like to revisit and go faster, lighter. Upper 1/3 dihedral is an amazing place to be, wanna get back there.
