Description Suggest change

This is the Shrodinger's Cat of routes: it earns "really fine climbing" and "horrible route" at the same time.  Ah, if only one could just climb the nice crack and skip the dirty, sketchy blocky bit above.

Location Suggest change

Just as the trail descends towards the Elder C and Up Yours base area. Look for the crack in the RF corner.  Climb straight up from there, plugging all your big cams (3... then the 4... then the 5) as you go. The 60 ft of broken rock above the good climbing will test your nerves as you search out solid rock to plug gear into.  Disclaimer - I may have stayed in the broken corner longer than necessary, at least that what's suggested by the route photo in the books (which show a break out left onto what might be more solid, though still dirty, rock)..

Protection Suggest change

Big cams to number 5 BD. Standard rack otherwise. Two ropes make for an easy rap, but one rope and a brushy diagonal rap will get you to the Up Yours/ Elder C rap tree.  Rapping down the route would be a very bad idea due to all the potentially deadly blocks that could be dislodged.
