Description

The route to the right of Amiga, Ol' 47 ascends a short face with a crack on the right, past five bolts. Pull left at the top to reach the anchors that are shared with Amiga. Also this shares the fifth bolt with Amiga. It has fairly sharp rock, but it is a fun romp at the grade.

Protection

Five quickdraws for the route.

If you layback up the crack/flake right of "Ol'47" and clip the bolts to your left then the grade drops to 5.7. Pretty good fun! Mar 19, 2003

Climbed in the crack just to the right of the bolts until the final panel, felt pretty easy. Jul 17, 2004

In "Shelf Road Rock: A Complete Climbing Reference" (Knapp/Thompson/Aschert), it appears this climb is listed as "You Show Me Your Heavy Weapons and I'll Show You Mine". Can anyone else confirm this? Mar 27, 2006

This is a solid 5.9 climb but rather sharp rock and rope drag if you belay down. Aug 14, 2006

This felt pretty tough for the grade, even on toprope. Crux is getting over a bulge near the 3rd or 4th bolt. There the good feet basically end and you are left with some rough limestone with a few small pockets and crimps for hands. It is sharp and can hurt the fingers. Bolts are a bit widely spaced and it wouldn't be good to fall before a clip. One nice thing is you can bail right to the flake if the going gets too tough (yeah, I must admit I had to do that). Maybe I'll get it next time.

Show Me Your Weapon is the route to the right on the flake with a separate bolt line. Nov 22, 2008

Can use this climb to toprope to Amiga, but watch out for rope drag. Apr 21, 2014
