Oct 22, 2024 · Lead / Onsight. I lead the first pitch with my girlfriend two days in a row. Both times we backed off due to light rain and generally being apprehensive of the climbing. The first time I climbed this I placed a few cams in the first 20 feet. I then took eyebrows up left and could not find gear until approximately 50 feet up. The eyebrows do not protect as well as they look from below as they are very flaring. Upon rappell I found a great purple .5 at around 30 feet that I had missed on the ascent. If I had fallen between 35 and 50 feet I would have decked. Morale of the story is that if you are unfamiliar with eyebrow climbing be confident at the grade and look around for protection. The overhanging eyebrows do not climb as easy as they look and placing gear can be tricky.
