Description
Icarus had wings made of feathers and wax. He flew too close to the sun, melted his wings, and took the whip. If you follow the arete too far up and left, you too could get burnt.
This route begins just up canyon from the wide crack, "Squeeze". It starts with a fun, balancey boulder problem protected by the only bolt on the route. This bolt is purposefully high and meant to be clipped with a stickclip that perma-lives under the overhang below the route. Make a tricky move to a jug above the bolt, then keep heading up on good holds. The gear here is tricky to find, and there are only a few slots for micro-cams in the middle of the route. Follow good holds up and left towards the arete before busting back right onto the face. Continue up cracks and corners to the big ledge below the final section, which is shared with Cerberus. Blast up the final 30 feet of finger cracks and jugs to the anchor.
