This is the climb that starts in the crack just to the left of The Short Tour that leads to a steep slab protected by a few bolts. The crux is high and well-protected; however, the crack down low is rather insecure, and the gear I found was pretty iffy. I chose to give this an R rating due to the insecure moves in the crack that were "protected," but I had little faith in any of the gear holding. The crack is probably 11-ish.

If you're jumping on this, you can probably figure out pro. Small cams to #2 Camalot and medium stoppers should do it.

There is some friable rock in the crack down low, but there are plenty of spots for good pro before you reach the bolts (just try not to block the few decent jams). The R rating is unwarranted in my opinion. I would say PG having hung on all 3 cams I placed in the lower section.

Now, up high there is a lot of choss which can come off in larger chunks (larger than golfballs), so have your belayer wear a helmet and stay out of the way. It'd be nice if this cleaned up some with traffic, because the roof yields some really fun moves. Dec 1, 2018
