Access Issue: Rim Rock Trail Closure Details

Description

Climb the handcrack for about 30 feet until it trends left and gets a little broken. At this point, step right onto the arete and climb straight up to a handcrack through a bulge. Follow this and face climb to the top. Belay from gear at the top. Scramble down and east to descend.

Location

About 50 meters west of the quarry is another little amphitheater. Look for a nice handcrack below the highest chunk of rock.

Protection

Up to #3 Camalot.

Photos

I led Steve Sarns up this and up through the shorter cliff band above it in Aug. 1978.

Edit: I found journal entry for 8/15/78. We called this "Crap Crags" and rated the jamming at 5.8 (120 ft). Aug 28, 2013
