Description

Be it for beginning leaders, or an easy warm-up for the more experienced, this is a neat little route. Follow generous holds and the beautiful right-facing flake to the top.

Location

The right-most route of Tattoo Wall proper. Just LEFT of the ramping route, Plumber's Crack (5.6). Look for the obvious flake midway up.

Protection

3 Bolts.
Anchors.

Fun short route with a fun pull after the third clip, keep your feet to the right and let your hands wander the edge of the flake. it goes! May 26, 2016

Super fun route, climbed as my third lead. Reaching the first bolt can be a bit intimidating to new leaders - requires extra long stick clip, or solid bouldering skills, once on it climbing is smooth. Glad I took the time to climb it. Sep 6, 2016

"Solid bouldering skills" is a bit of a stretch. It's barely 5th class to the first bolt. Sep 12, 2016

The "bolt" isn't loose. The hanger is loose. If you climb primarily bolted routes, a good piece of kit to have is a small adjustable wrench. Tighten until the hanger is snug against the rock, then give it another quarter turn. The New River Gorge doesn't have a service department for fixed hardware. NRAC does a great job replacing bad hardware, but this doesn't fall under that category. If you're going to trust your life to fixed hardware that someone else put in, you should be able to perform minimal maintenance like tightening loose bolt hangers. Nov 6, 2018
