Two-of-a-kind Route Names
| | There are hundreds of routes named West Face or The Nose, (Likely) only one route named Magical Chrome Plated Semi-Automatic Enema Syringe, but what are some rarer route names that have only been used twice (or thrice)? Here's my submission: |
| | I would like to make it extremely clear that not only do I despise this route name, but I despise others like it. Come on people. Lame. We are engaged in a glorious battle with fear not a junior high locker room in the 80’s that said, this one fits your category: https://www.mountainproject.com/route/106181212/smell-my-finger https://www.mountainproject.com/route/105989635/smell-my-finger |
| | j mowrote: Lmao that's the name you hate so much? Was expecting so much worse. I find this extremely amusing. I relish in your unfounded hatred. Are there any more innocent targets of your raging hatred you desire to share? I already need my next fix. |
| | Now to find someone who has ticked both routes in a two-of-a-kind pair |

| | This is fun. How about "The Trough"? https://www.mountainproject.com/route/105799071/the-trough (Big Rock, CA) https://www.mountainproject.com/route/105861086/the-trough (Tahquitz, CA) Also, Tahquitz and J-Tree both have left and right ski track routes. |

| | j mowrote: I feel embarrassed for the FA party. These are grown-ass men who couldn’t think of anything more original than a 13-year-old boy whose entire understanding of sex is based on PornHub. |
| | There‘s too many named ”Arrowhead” or “First Date” to link individually |
| | Grand Central Couloir, North face of Mt. Kitchener, Canada Grand Central Couloir, North Face of Sacajawea, Idaho |
| | Tyler Stockdalewrote: A number of years ago I had a conversation with a young climber from New England, who told me that he was heading to Washington state to climb “ the Becky Route”. When I asked him which one, all I got back was a blank stare. My guess is that if you pick pretty much any name from Tolkien, you’ll find multiple routes bearing it ( almost invariably put up in the ‘70s/early’80s). |
| | Not a route, but pretty much every state seems to have a Gill Boulder. |
