Apr 26, 2026 · Lead / Onsight. Okay, I’m not the strongest climber out there. However, I’ve spent most of my time climbing “sandbagged” granite courtesy of the McDowell Mountains in Arizona. Especially routes 5.9 and below. I’ve never seen an overhung route tote the grade of 5.6. That being said the steep angle only lasts for about the first 15’ of the climb. Its cruiser easy afterwards. I’d give it 5.7 compared to similar routes back home or even here in JT. All this is just to say, take the grade with a grain of salt. Be safe and have fun!
