Climb up to the right side of a tree which connects this route with the boulder behind it. Fun climbing at the bottom is followed by an interesting crux by the tree. Some use the tree, but the climbing is arguably more interesting without.

Keep heading uphill from where the trail crosses a small and sometimes dry stream right after it diverges from the rough ranch road. The route is located on the cliff face in the corridor between the large boulder and the cliff. Follow the line of bolts to the right of the tree branch which touches the rock.

Four bolts to a two bolt anchor.

I'm a gigantic weenie, but I found that leading the segment between the last bolt and the anchors, "an interesting crux by the tree" a little heady. If 5.8 is your redpoint, proceed with caution or on top rope. But again, I'm a weenie. Nov 27, 2017
This was my first warm up climb on day two at HCR and I felt like my brain was in a fog the whole time I climbed it. Somehow I don't think that has anything to do with the route, though. Would love to come back to this again when I am wide awake ;-) Oct 16, 2018
