Jun 3, 2026 · 2 pitches. Lead / Redpoint. After doing 69 warmups (a 5.8 AND a 5.9, which I led by the way), I finally stick clipped this root as high as possible and summitted clipping every bold 2-3 times with just one hang. I then took a 69 minute rest, and started getting ready for the second FA. Somehow managed to summit in one push, clipping every rig, draw, and whatever else I came across. Literally anything that could be clipped ended up with a toprope running through it. Now that’s what I call route fitness. Btw, Finished the day by migrating all the gear to the 5.11a at the entrance of the canyon. Was very happy to spray the gear beta to everyone before heading out. Only time will tell if this new root is leadable.

Jun 1, 2026 · Lead / Redpoint. 2nd go flash First ascent was done on a very tight toprope, and lots of gear was placed to put the root in a leadable state. The root gobbled up singles and doubles like nothing I’ve ever seen before. Did not figure out much beta, but dialed the gear and took a giant shit in a wag bag before the lead attempt. Middle techs crux felt harder than last move for me. Good finger lock at the top since I’m a famous crack climber now
