Shaolin Slab
May 16, 2026 · TR. With Coulter. Crux is passing the 2nd bolt. Very dirty. Did not send. Single piece of black tied webbing with a rap ring at the anchor tree was good enough to lower.

False Shaolin Crack
May 16, 2026 · Lead / Onsight. With Coulter. Very dirty down low. Lots of bushes to climb thru. The top after the last bush gets to be some decent climbing. Don’t need a #5 but maybe a #4 is useful. The last bit of rock at the very top of the route sounds a bit insecure and looks like the tree roots are actively growing/leveraging the rock away from the wall.

Alpine Yogini
May 16, 2026 · TR. With Coulter. Ran up this real quick after doing the one next to it. Might be a bit heady traversing the decomposing lichen covered slab at the top on lead.

Alpine Yogi
May 16, 2026 · Follow. Coulter led. Good jamming. Some kitty litter on the slab. Couple pieces of half cut thru tat on the small anchor tree but it held with a backup.

Fingertrip
May 13, 2026 · 5 pitches. Lead / Onsight. With Ben. Got on this after the Coffin Nail bail. Did it in 5 pitches to be able to have an eye on Ben for the traverse. We had a run in with the ants on the lower tree. Overcammed a purple totem in the belay before the traverse and Ben spent 20 min getting it out. Got roasted by the sun climbing thru and above lunch ledge. And then Ben learned about slab climbing on the last pitch. Overall a good day but did not go plan and sometimes that’s ok.

Coffin Nail
May 12, 2026 · Lead / Fell/Hung. With Ben. Was snapped off from multiple bad nights at work and still hadn’t recovered from a fast c2c push on baldy 4 days prior. Everything was slow, and the first pitch made it clear my body wasn’t doing well. 2nd pitch got about 20 feet up and had to take and decided I needed to lead something significantly easier today. Down aided the crack and lowered off a nut. Then we rapped off a slung block and a tree to the trail and went up fingertip. Not a great morning but good learning either way.
