Description Suggest change

Sam’s Ultimate Tanner Trad Link-up (SUTTL) (pronounced “subtle”) is THE must-do trad link-up at Tanner Dome for climbers who climb or French free anywhere near the 5.10 range or above. It climbs 4 very high quality trad pitches from the base to the top of Tanner Dome. It is a variation of sorts on the KUTTL link-up route with which it shares the same last two pitches (Ghost Rider Dihedral and Bushmaster).

P1 is the awesome route The Horizontal Method. From its bolted belay, traverse climber’s right into the good route of P2: Promontory. Follow Promontory to Halfway Ledge, and belay at the base of Ghost Rider Dihedral using a gear anchor. It is possible to walk off Halfway Ledge if needed here. Climb P3 up Ghost Rider Dihedral to a gear anchor on a good ledge. P4: Bushmaster: traverse climber’s left into the amazing crack of Bushmaster. Belay at a tree belay at the top of Tanner Dome on a huge ledge.

Descent: walk off climber's left (west) of Tanner Dome following the first major gully to the base.

Location Suggest change

This link-up starts at the bottom of Tanner Dome towards the climber’s left (west) end on Covert Crack. It ends at the top of Tanner Dome.
