Description

Newbies and young ones will enjoy this short slab, a great spot to work on your friction skills. For a challenge, tape a of tennis ball to each hand so they can only be used for balance, it will do wonders for your footwork.

Location

Hike in past the first bolted route on the right and then look for the short slab on the left. Flake your rope out OFF the trail and be sure to leave room for passing hikers, bikers, and horses.

Protection

Single bolt.

Locals have no idea who placed this bolt, only that it showed up a couple of years ago. Consensus says it is poorly placed and of questionable quality. I would not place my children or newbies in the position of trusting a single anchor point I know nothing about. No matter where you belay from for this bouldering slab, you are in the trail. Please note request from Forest Service to not belay from trail and all the comments posted by locals asking the same. Horses are easily spooked by movement overhead. You do not want to be near a spooked horse or put the rider in a bad situation. Better to toprope Noodle or Practice Wall for newbies. Due to this request from the Forest Service, it is locally agreed to remove this bolt. Jul 2, 2011
