Description
The West End Wall is an intriguing spread of tall, morphed columns, and stunning architecture. Over the last number of years this wall has delivered long, striking lines which have created a full value venue. This wall is stained with dramatic black water streaks interfolded with otherworldly swaths of vibrant yellow lichen.
If you are looking to climb a lot of hard routes in a day, this would be high on the list of sectors which dish out some of the most classic climbing in the canyon. There is a very conspicuous drainage/ low spot on the rim which marks the top of Nyctophiliac and Like a Shadow in the Night. This northwest facing wall gets morning shade until midday during the summer months, an increased shade during the Fall season. 65 to 70 degree ambient temps will seem perfect.
