Aug 22, 2026 · Lead / Fell/Hung. The south descent is long. 3 miles at -1000 feet aren't great. The views are absolutely outstanding. But so are the views on the route. Next time go -1 L (lake water!!), bring the 60m tagline and do the double rope rap that the other couple did. They got back to the car same as us having gotten right back down and climbed some other climbs!! No need for either #4. Placements for #3s instead, but could probably bring just one #3. Alpine draws were fine for the bolted section. No need for not as multi-use quick draws. Took an optional take on the crux pitch. Probably could have fired it. Poor Alex's anti-style climb.

Aug 13, 2026 · Lead / Onsight. Lead all pitches. My follower was 80 year old Juan Carlos! Rack two #4s for the wide section of the crack on the physical crux 5.7 pitch. It looks like #3 placement but it is not. I can't remember which side would be better to have the #4 on but you only need one. Double ropes for the rappel necessary. 60m double ropes gets you to within 10 feet of 5.0 slab down climbing. 70m is probably perfect to avoid that. Still a pretty 3rd/4th slabby walk off but approach shoes work well at this point. If wet it would be scary though there are options to bail from gear or trees after the bolted raps. If you cruised the 5.7 crux you will probably be fine on the 5.4 R/PG13 slab above.

Aug 9, 2026 · Lead / Onsight. Frank lead P2. I didn't enjoy either. Belay stations are cushy and have amazing scenery. Apparently the 5.9 variation makes the route but then hey.
