The Morgul Vale
Jul 4, 2025 · Lead. Led every pitch but one of the top ones w/ Ben. Was very out of shape and got rope dragged to shit in the middle pitches. Sling everything so far out I promise you won’t regret it. Also trundled a death block on the new pitches. Couldn’t get the replacement bolt in, as I couldn’t find it. Bummer. Gonna have to go back again. Also the bolts at the top of the grass pitch are going bad.

Barad-dûr
Jun 1, 2024 · 7 pitches. Lead / Fell/Hung. Overall pretty straightforward. Honestly just remember the fucking beta for the 11 pitch. Stem, then swing the right leg up to do the mantle. There's an edge up there you can use as a side pull above the rail thing. Then the knee bar rest and a nut or .3 in that seam off to the left. You can prolly drop a .4 in the rail you use to traverse out right afterwards, but it's gonna be in the way in a big way. Depends how good you feel about the thing n the left, I opted not to have it. I cut loose getting my feet around the corner, which felt cool but was a little sketchy. As per last time, the grass slope thing off the top sucked a ton of butt. I still don't know the sequence on the 10b. Dan took the whip and it was pretty heroic.

The Morgul Vale
Jun 1, 2024 · 5 pitches. Lead / Onsight. Did as always, botched the start somehow by getting off route and taking a strangely meandering path. Simul-linked the top pitches via transiting across the grassy ledge and then just running the entire 70 out. It’s *just* too short to top out, but with a trax in at the very last bolt before the end, it was no biggie. Dudes before us fucking nuked some rocks down, don’t forget that this is a gravel heap.
