Description
Some of the steepest routes at LOP are here, including the mega roof Bobcat Reality (top of Michal's Slab). Yet there are also some friction slabs (at Lou's and The Velvet). Many routes follow corners, though there are a few splitters, including the rightmost route to this subarea, the Cringe.
The leftmost (west) boundary is the waterfall (see The Party Zone), which runs in winter and tends to dribble & seep through about June. The water comes down a gully between Duck Wall and Lookout Point. The rightmost boundary has a handline going up a short gully to Peanuts, the first route done at LOP, otherwise the wall continues east with no distinct change.
Getting There
Though one can take several trails to the West Side, the fastest is usually the old trail that stays left at Midnite boulder and heads up to a "T" intersection a little into the boulder field. Go right here and follow the sometimes hard-to-follow trail through the talus. At the headwall (The Party Zone), go right and up. From here, the trail is close to the wall.
