All South End routes
(All routes south of "Shaman School")
A sign will be installed where the closure begins. Please do not enter this area.
The USFS will be frequently monitoring the Peregrine Falcons so that they can open areas as soon as possible. Successful partnership with the Forest Service biologists has allowed for closure of select routes, instead of the entire walls or crags, and we ask that climbers adhere to these closures. If you have questions, concerns, or would like to report a bird sighting, please reach out to the Northern Arizona Climbers Coalition at nazcc@nazcc.org or the US Forest Service (Coconino National Forest) @ 928-527-8247

Description
Head up slabby climbing that will feel a little run out to a small bulge, clip the bolt and make a few tenuous moves to good holds above bulge. Pull onto slab and tip toe yer way up to the good stance in the corner. Start thinking like a trad climber and work your way up the beautiful black and white corner, exiting right at the small roof and finishing on PEZ. (long draw and the transition might help). The zebra colored corner will test yer hip flexors for sure! (Named after a short story my dad wrote for me as a kid where the narrator encounters a phantom train on an abandoned rail line (in our home town of Paradise, Ca) and then encounters an old rail road worker "Old Walley" at the Whistle Stop diner.
