Flakey
Jan 17, 2026 · Lead / Onsight. Stick clip the first bolt or use a #4 cam to protect the opening moves from the upper ledge. Bolts and maybe one more #2 cam to protect a run out before the last bolt. Rounded hangers at the top but no rap rings. We rapped off the hangers rather than walk off. Felt much easier than the other 8’s we did today.

Briar Patch
Jan 17, 2026 · 1 pitch. TR. Ran up the first pitch in approach shoes to clean the anchor. Super easy. On lead I think they placed maybe three pieces? A #1, 0.75 and maybe another finger cam. Muddy hook anchors. We used them to top rope Similax Crack.

Similax Crack
Jan 17, 2026 · Follow. Hung several times on top rope as I tried to figure this out. My first time on a wide off width like this. I tried fist jams, stacking hands, chicken wings, all sorts of non sense. It was tough going! I may have wanted the sloppy shoes and not the tech shoes to make the foot jams easier. Put in a #5 cam at the top of the crack slung with an alpine draw to help with the rope angle on the top rope.

Grass Fed
Jan 17, 2026 · Lead / Onsight. Stick clip the first bolt. Get in a 0.75 cam between bolts 1 and 2. Then a #3 cam in the dark comma crack that angles up and left to protect the reach to the next bolt. To get to this one, walk up and right. There is a bomber side pull for the right hand.

S Crack
Jan 17, 2026 · Follow. The s crack is cool. The crux is when the crack first turns left. Hands are ok. Feet are lousy. The key is a high crystal for the left foot. Work up to it, then get the left foot on the crystal and rock up and left onto the foot. Crack gloves - no watch! The slab up above through the three bolts is heady. Very techie and foot dependent for several moves.
