Warning Access Issue: IMPORTANT notes on Wet Rock and Human Waste DetailsDrop down

Description Suggest change

Kind of like the Canola Cracks of Whiskey Peak, this corner always looked good...but not quite good enough to bother racking up. Turns out it is! Fun and fast, a nice "bonus pitch" on the way out.

A steep, broken start leads to nice varnish climbing and a small ledge. Stem above this ledge to more fun varnish. Gear anchor (or throw your rope around the top of the formation.

Descend down the gully climbers left (a little 4th class at the very bottom).

Location Suggest change

When descending Whiskey Peak, take the trail that contours back towards the base of the East Face. Pickleback is located on the little buttress at the bottom of the "wrong" descent gully off of the east face routes, the last bit of rock before the trail hooks left into the canyon.

Protection Suggest change

Standard rack.
