HUMAN WASTE: Human waste is a major issue plaguing the area. The Southern Nevada Climbers Coalition (SNCC) works to provide "wag bags" free of charge in several locations: Black Velvet Canyon, The Hamlet, Kraft Mountain Area, The Gallery, and The Black Corridor. These bags are designed so that you can pack your waste out. Consider bringing one to be part of your daily kit no matter where you go. Once used, please dispose of them properly. Do not throw them in the toilets at the parking areas.
See https://www.southernnevadaclimbers.org/wag-bags for more information on the program.
Description
This is an extensive area encompassing the Angel Food Wall and surrounding cliffs. Most of the routes are mostly mid-grade trad lines of two to six pitches length.
Getting There
A good trail (the Grand Circle Loop) departs the parking heading west. Stay left as you pass a side trail to the spring in about a hundred yards. About a half mile from the parking lot, the path nears a drop-off into the gully on the right. Leave the main trail at this point and descend steeply into the drainage. Turn left at the bottom and walk a short distance (maybe 20 yards) to where a trail climbs up the right side of the gully to a relatively level plateau. Follow this trail west across the plateau (approx 1/8 mile) heading in the direction of the Angel Food Wall. At this point the trail drops into another gully. The options begin at this point, depending intended destination.
