ALL SEASONAL CLIMBING CLOSURES FOR CLIMBING AND SLACKLINING WILL BE LIFTED ON FRIDAY, JULY 7TH THIS WEEK.
THANKS, EVERYONE FOR YOUR HELP IN OBSERVING RESTRICTIONS DURING THE NESTING SEASON!
There are many seasonal raptor closures with varying dates and specific boundaries. These generally effect The Monument, Kiss of the Lepers, Picnic Lunch Wall and/or Smith Rock group, and possibly elsewhere. These usually run from February to the beginning of August, but each closure is usually shorter than this, and is dependent on the birds' behavior. Description
Start left up a ramp through a bouldery section to the crack where you can place your first protection, once past the bottom follow the crack up using a mixture of face holds and crack. This route is not a good first trad lead, but you can scramble up the back side and set up a top rope to work moves and figure out your gear placements. Belayer should wear a helmet and make sure hikers are aware of potential rock fall, the route is a bit chossy, and there is a big ledge at the anchor that collects pebbles that may rain down when you get to the top. Hangers & chains added to existing bolts, the old "missing" anchors for “Yoder Eaters”.
