JULY 5 UPDATE FROM PARK MANAGEMENT:
ALL SEASONAL CLIMBING CLOSURES FOR CLIMBING AND SLACKLINING WILL BE LIFTED ON FRIDAY, JULY 7TH THIS WEEK.
THANKS, EVERYONE FOR YOUR HELP IN OBSERVING RESTRICTIONS DURING THE NESTING SEASON!
There are many seasonal raptor closures with varying dates and specific boundaries. These generally effect The Monument, Kiss of the Lepers, Picnic Lunch Wall and/or Smith Rock group, and possibly elsewhere. These usually run from February to the beginning of August, but each closure is usually shorter than this, and is dependent on the birds' behavior. Description
Another alternative to the last pitch of Round River. With some traffic this pitch will be as good if not better than Round River Direct. After the first long pitch of Round River, walk right on the big ledge to a bolted anchor and climb the steep juggy wall, protected by bolts. Combine a natural anchor with the last bolt to give your follower a better belay or just go to the chains at the top of Round River Direct. To descend scramble or rap off the backside of the Koala or rappel Round River Direct into Round River.
