Note that the annual closures of the Park View Dome, The Ranch Hand, Black Creek Wall, and Sawmill Crag have been permanently lifted. These cliffs will continue to be monitored, but will only close if a new nest is spotted.
Description
Rapa Nui is a face climb up the Easter Island like feature above the first pitch of Thread the Needle. From the anchor on TTN, climb up Exfoliation Station past its crux to step right, and climb up the vertical face. Jam or face climb past a wedged block, which feels spooky but is solid, then continue up climbing a hollow sounding flake to pull over to The Derrickman belay. The movement on this pitch is fun, and the hollow sounding features make it a bit spooky for the timid.
Location
Rapa Nui can be climbed in one long pitch from the ground, but a 70m rope just makes the rap and lowering would be rough on your rope. Start up Thread the Needle or one of the Exfoliation Station starts.
