Description
This route doesn’t always fill in, and when it does it’s usually only for a month or so before it melts out. But when it’s in, it offers a rarely used and unique route up Tuckerman Ravine. Ascend a faint runout path through the bushes to the base of the narrow gully. Climb through a slight choke, then through some bushes. The gully walls get much lower here and the gully widens. Continue up to the Alpine Garden. You can continue up to the summit by crossing the alpine garden and ascending the east snowfields, or descend from here.
Descent:
Right Gully and Lobster Claw get you back to the floor of the ravine. Lions Head Winter returns to the Tuckerman Ravine Trail. This gully is also skiable during big snow years.
