The two areas Jefferson County Open Space intends to close in Clear Creek Canyon, shown on the attached maps, encompass the active eagle nests. If the Clear Creek eagles continue to nest in the active nests, these areas will remain closed from February 1 through July 31. If the eagles choose different nesting sites, the closures will be adjusted accordingly to protect those eagles during their breeding season.

Currently, rock climbing areas that fall inside of the seasonal raptor closures include:

Ghost Crag
Highlander
Skinny Legs
Stumbling Block
Tetanus Garden
Fault Caves

Description

This is a split and continuation from the High Wire Crag. This subdivision is for the climbs on the North side of Tunnel 2.

The climbs are Power Play through Life After Death.

This is separated from High Wire Crag, because it involves a different approach and thus would help people find their way to this crag a bit easier.

Getting There

On the north side of Tunnel 2, head up the 3rd Class slabs to the left of Twitch Rock (there is usually a fixed line here). Once you are high enough, turn left toward this section of the High Wire Crag cliff.
