Description

Dinkum Gulley (named after a lovely crack that cuts through its face) is the southwest facing side of Buck's Bar Dome.

The upper/left section features Dinkum crack.

The middle section is Areta Franklin Buttress.

The right/lower section is Palm Beach Buttress.

The narrow and huge chimneys on either side of Areta both can be scrambled through to reach other parts of the dome. A headlamp is recommended on at least the first visit inside.

Getting There

The Cosumnes River Gorge access trail skirts around the top of the dome and circles west. Follow use trails back towards the dome down a gulley to the base of Dinkum crack.
