There are many seasonal raptor closures with varying dates and specific boundaries. These generally effect The Monument, Kiss of the Lepers, Picnic Lunch Wall and/or Smith Rock group, and possibly elsewhere. These usually run from February to the beginning of August, but each closure is usually shorter than this, and is dependent on the birds' behavior. Morning Sun & Easy --> Challenging Routes
Lots of new development is going on at the Monument right now. Please make sure to wear your helmets, as rock fall is a big concern at this time!!

Getting There
Walk over the bridge, go right, stay along the river for less than 10 minutes of leisure hiking, turn left under a huge Ponderosa pine. You'll pass a couple other big Ponderosa's until you get to this one, but you'll know you're at the right one by the trail that leads up to the wall from it.
The Monument Base Area is a fairly clear area.
