Description

High Neb is the highest point on Stanage Edge. It marks the first significant outcrop north of the Plantation area. Home to some of gritstone's finest routes, including High Neb Buttress and Quietus, this area is deservedly popular, though since it is smaller, more exposed, and has a longer approach than the more southern areas, it is usually less crowded. As it is the high point in the area and juts out slightly from the main ridge of Stanage, it is subject to high winds and slightly more extreme weather.

Getting There

From the Plantation, continue north to Denis Knoll, the next major parking area. Walk up the ancient Roman road for just under a 1/2 mile, then cross the fence at a ladder. Follow the path uphill towards the obvious Quietus roof.
