Description
The Thaiwand is the obvious tower that dominates the Phan Na Peninsula. Here are some of the best multi-pitch sport routes in the world, as well as some amazing single-pitch routes. There are spectacular views of the peninsula.
The crag faces north and is always in the shade during the dry season. From May to August the tower sees quite a lot of sun.
Getting There
Get yourself to Railay West beach. As you're looking out at the ocean walk to your left to the end of the beach. There will be a trail that goes up through the forest. To get to the Thaiwand, follow the trail and when the trail branches always take a right. You'll eventually get to a steep section with a fixed rope. Follow that and after about 100ft you'll see a bamboo ladder when you reach the wall. The hike takes about 15 minutes.
