The Joshua Tree National Park Superintendent's Compendium states that:
1. Vegetation is not allowed to be used as an anchor.
2. Only neutral or rock colored bolt hangers are allowed.

Description

The Wailing Sax Wall is one of the better, if not best, spots around Sheep Pass Campground.

It's nearly 100 foot west face offers a wide variety of crack and face climbs from 5.7 to 5.11+ on typically high quality rock.

Getting There

Hike up the rocky gully behind Campsite #2, passing routes on both sides, to a notch and continue over and the wall will be on your left.

The approach takes about 10 minutes.
