Description
Aruba is part of the "ABC" islands (Aruba, Bonaire and Curacao) located off the coast of Venezuela in the Carribean. The optimum time to visit is January - July. Precipitation and temperatures are much higher August through December.
The majority of the roped climbing is located in the south of the Island, near San Nicholas. As of 03-2025, there are roughly 100 established climbing routes, with scope for perhaps 100 hundred more and hundreds of additional boulder problems. If you wish to visit and develop additional routes, you should ONLY use titanium. Because of the marine environment, stainless steel becomes untrustworthy after about 10 years.
Getting There
The most common mode of transportation to Aruba is by air. There are numerous direct flights to Aruba from east coast cities in the US. A valid US Passport is required as well as registering before your trip in the online Aruba entry document system.
Once on the island, having a rental vehicle is by far the most convenient way to get to the cliffs.
